1 Year no heat challenge.. and more

Hey there guys so its been a while since I posted on my blog. so basically I decided to try a no heat challenge, for a year, I know long right.. anyways the challenge starts on the 4/12/12 until the 4/13/13, and the challenge rules are.....

1:  No heat on hair, no straighteners, blow-drys, curling irons, etc.

2 : Try and do protective styles, no point in taking so much care of your hair by not putting heat in it, you might aswell protect it

3: do Deep Conditioning at least once a amount, a deep condition is simply when you leave a conditioner in your hair for at least 1 hour or more.

4: The second and third rules are not necessary.

Hair ( Lecture 2 ) Transitioning

For those who don't like to watch video and love to read here is a quick outline on what my lecture 2 video is about.

Transitioning: in my terms is a movement from one position to another. therefore transitioning from relaxed to natural hair is moving from relaxed hair to natural hair.

Awkward Stage: The stage in which your hair has about 4-6 inches natural roots and the rest of your hair is relaxed its quite awkward!!!!!!!!

Difficulties: Natural hair takes a lot of time and effort!!!! but its worth it, you will receive negativity!!!, but who cares lol.

Products: Try new things... Do Protein treatments and deep conditioning.

For the rest you will just have to watch the video, holla.....

Deep Conditioners and Protein Treatments

Hey there guys so as part of my Hair series I am also going to start doing blogs about the topics that will be featured on my hair series.
So today I decided to make a protein/deep conditioning treatment,
I decided to mix it up a bit seeing as I haven't done both a protein and deep conditioning treatment in a while.

This is a typical video of how to apply a deep conditioning treatment in your hair.

The ingredients I used for my Conditioning/Protein treatment was:
1 egg, 2 large spoons of  coconut oil, 1 large spoon of olive oil, 4 large spoons of  mayonnaise, 4 drops of tea tree oil, 1 large spoon of herbal essence hello hydration, 1 large spoon of coconut conditioner Alberto Balsam, 2 large spoons of  almond and coconut hair mask ( boots ).

As you can from the ingredients I use my treatment was a protein/conditioner treatment.
I'm glad I decided to mix the treatments together and I think I will be mixing them together more often to save    me having to do two different treatments a month or every three weeks. This is going to save a lot of time for me when college starts. If you do try this treatment let me know. :)

Down below is a picture of what the treatment looked like.

School/College Series #1

We all know college and school can be stressful, therefore I decided to blog on ways to help you manage your hair for college/school.

1. Make sure you devise a plan

Now when I say plan I don't mean get a pen and paper and plan out a hair life story, I simply mean devise a strategy of what sort of hairstyles you would like to wear during your term time, etc September-October braids, November-December a weave, a weave would be handy for the cold winter months protecting your hair relaxed or natural is vital.

2. Get Your Products

You should get all the products that you need for your hair therefore when school/college starts you wont have to worry about running out of products or running to the stores to get products especially if you are natural and you order all your products online order them now!! Get your shea butter mix from www.purchase.bigcartel.com.

3. Hair Care

It gets much harder when term time starts to keep up to date with your hair care regimen, we all know caring for our natural hair can be very stressful at times, however like my aforementioned statement if you devise a plan you will be grand!
Hair care is not as hard as it may seem mine is soo easy detangle and condition once a week, wash with shampoo once every 2 and a half weeks, and I moisturise once a week after every wash!!! I use my home-made leave in conditioner spritz to mositurize daily. Check the Video Below!!

4. Get your ass intact

Basically get your together, if you want excellent results on your hair! dont let your education affect your beautiful hair lool :)

thats about it for my natural hair tips for School/College term time.

Wash and Go Hairtsyle

I am absolutely obsessed with Wash and Go hairstyles on my hair.. half the time I dont wash my hair I just wet it with water and style it.
I feel like a lot of people with natural hair get caught up in twist out braid outs, protective styles, etc.
I love leaving my hair out in its very natural state therefore, here is a quick vid of how I style my natural hair on a daily basis ( lazy day).

Feelings of the heart and Soul

Is man merley a machine and is the heart only a pump that drive and forces blood around the body?!The heart is love it is mans feeling it carries the pains and love. If not why would people have heartattacks.  Man isnt just a a lustful being that doesn’t feel.  Man is more then that.

We are spiritual beings with souls. What is a soul?! Our soul is who we are. It gives us our personality and it shines through our body.
When I meet a person and really get to know them and care for them. I get myself acquainted with "them". Not there physical being but there personality.
I learn what makes them who they are, they’re wits and personality.

How do I know, man isn't  more then just  the body we see?....
Just like a tree our body is subject to change. Is a tree real?.... if I walk past a tree and in 50 years come back, the tree isn't there, therefore that tree is no longer real to my kids or I.
This goes for the  same as man, our bodies maybe real to feel and touch and give into lust, however when we realize it is subject to change, we realize that it isnt ever lasting. When we get over this materialistic phase and come to terms with life we Will know that beuaty isnt looks or physic. Its within Its  no longer real to me or the soul. Its our personality and who we are and how much we have mad an impact in other peoples lives.

Living in today’s day, we forget. We abolish all ideas of whats real and look at things that are real now.  We belittle our sleves as just being! We make our souls, we make ourselves under unbearable pressure. We deprive our souls of what they deserve.
We take away the protection of our spirits by submitting it to danger! We drink carelessly and live our lives  vulnerable.
We drug our selves and lose whats real in life, family and a future. We submit oursleves to “fakelove”. We give into lust and we have friends with benefits.

Do we care if our souls are slowly dying with the suppression, no!
Its time we come away and grow up. Learn to love our true sleves and let our souls shine for who we really are. Soon enough others will folow and question where the glow is coming from.

Why People say I LOVE YOU.

Firstly Im going to start of by saying the words I LOVE YOU is sooo over- rated. Many people use it and don't even know the meaning of it. A lot of people seem to have a problem with others that don't use the word often example: Sahra says to her friend Lousie  "I Love you"...  and Louise replies ok thanks bye, txt ya later ( that's one of my favorites lool ). Louise then gets sooo offended and over- emotional.

You see the problem with society today is the lack of ability to listen to others, and to acknowledge different personalities in which  individuals have. for example if you freely use the word I love You, to your friends, family members, and others you need to realize that not everyone is going to use it back, some people are simply not that open and find it difficult to say I love you. Some individuals do not use such words so freely and simply get irritated when others ask them to say it back!!!!!!!

Now for those people who do get sooo irritated when people say I love you xxxxx. calm down, its just a word, doesn't mean the person actually loves you or wants to marry you or spend the rest of their lives with you ( lol ), they're just simply an open person and either like you a lot or really enjoyed their conversation or time with you ( Nothing more, Nothing less ).

( I am speaking in terms of friendships and not relationships, I shall do relationships another day lool )

Sales Haul and U- Part Wig

hey there guys.. so decided to blog today about some sales I got in city center.. why ? cause im bored.

I bought a blue plated dress in Pennys for 5e, surprisingly enough it looked quite nice on me, I dont really wear blue, but seeing as im going to a wedding tommorow taught I would try something a little different, I plan on wearing brown shoes, and possibly a brown belt if it goes.

I also bought black high waisted shorts in H&M for 5e..... looovve them cant wait to wear them out, :), its a plain black pair of shorts no buttons, there is a zip on the side though, might post some pics of it later.

I also got hello hydration conditioner by herbal essence in boots for 2.30e including 10 percent student discount, I tried it once and absolutely loved it.. so Im so glad It was half price.

I purchased a manekeen head in Terrisales on abbey st. to make my u- part wig, with the brazilian hair that I got.. Im quite excited to make the wig, as Im not a huge fan of getting weaves, as its soooo hard to maintain my natural hair :(... and I absolutely lovee taking care of my natural hair, its like a lifestyle..

well thats about it for this blog.

p.s. I am not really one for uploading tons of pics on my blogs as it is not really centered on a particular topic, I just looovve to write. might post up some of my rap songs loolz.

Natural Hair Tag ???????? Q & A

1. How is your hair Progress ? My natural hair progress is great, I am now fully natural since 04/01/12, my hair has grown a huge amount even with my lack of protective styles. I currently set a goal for August and I have reached that goal, therefore my hair is growing faster than I taught. I shall post a big of my hair freshly washed and conditioned down below.

2. Things you would/ would not have done to your hair ? I would have done more protective styles, I definitely would have stopped relaxing my hair earlier, but had no idea about natural hair.

3. How long have you been seriously caring for your hair ? I have been seriously caring for my hair since I decided  to go natural on the 04/12/11

4. Info you'd offer to natural newbies ? Well for people who B.C I would say hang in there, your hair will grow and time will fly by, enjoy your twa ( tinny winny afro ) because the longer your hair is the more you have to care for it.
For transitioners I will say the process is not an easy one, and you most likely will receive negative comments and some breakage as the two textures are colliding, but ignore the comments and have fun doing different styles  on your hair such as braid outs, twist out, with those styles your hair textures will blend right in.

5. What are your long and short term hair goals ? my short term hair goals is for the front of my hair to reach my chin by September and long term I want my hair to have grown an additional 16 inches in 2 years, Im currently undergoing a 2 year waist length challenge. :D

6. What networks/hair blogs do you belong to ? naturalsunshine.ning.com

7. Discuss how friends and family responded to your natural hair ? Family liked it, although one of my sisters didnt, but now she loves it. Friends where not to keen on it, but didn't bother me, there all so amused and amazed by it now.

And thats the end of my natural hair tag.

College Drop Outs ? ? whats to come

Question: hey id Jane here..i wanna get advice of ya!...well im considering being a college drop-out. im the 1st in my family to get to uni, worked hard and have options but like i dont know do i want to be a scientist, or anything to do with it like enginnering anymore....ive a love and flare for business. i recently started working for this company and have alot of career prospects there, that by less then a year i could become assistant manager.....should i go for this love or stick to what i started with and slugg through a 4 year degree programme??.....what you think

Answer
: Hey Jane, thanks for contacting me. Honestly Im gonna give it to you straight.

I personally don't think you should drop out of College, as you said you are the first in your family to get into a university, and that's an excellent achievement. If you are unssure if you want to do a course, I personally think it might not be the coarse for you, your only unsure for a reason right ??.

You say you have a flare for business why not do a business related degree ?. Well done in achieving a job in this economy, however not all jobs last for ever, as you know people with degrees in their professions are being let go, so you shouldn't think because you got a job for a company your going to be there for ever.
Dont get me wrong you could progress well in this company and become really successful, but then again in the next ten years the owner of the company could shut it down, who knows what the future holds!!!!

Fortunately for you, Yiour given the chance of education a chance for a better future, a chance to make this world a better place. Cheesy ? I know... however its the truth, whether you achieve a diploma, fetac, degree, or p.h.d, you are allowing yourself to become better for your future and those around you.

Education is the most important thing in society today, and I believe it should not be taken for granted. We live in a country in which our education is so great we can achieve a career in any country.
Taking all this into perspective my answer is NO. I dont think you should drop out of college as we all know most college drop outs dont go back and regret it later on in life.
Im not telling you to do a coarse you hate, but simply telling you to stay in college doing a coarse you enjoy and hope for the best..
GoodLuck...x

Overweight People: Dress appropriately ???

Listening to the Adrian Kennedy show and their talking about how overweight people, girls in particular should dress appropriately, especially when there out on a night out.

Some size 8 girl is on giving out like crazy to over weight people, telling them what to wear and what not, like
everyone is different in their approach to how they dress and what they like to see people wear, but hating on an over weight person, calling them all sorts is on called for, like jeez.

hmm I feel like big girls are generally hotter than twigs. however some do dress inappropriately especially on a nights out, but most of them don't and they look much better than skinny girls by farrrrr!!!!!!!
